System Types Brief Description

Wired Systems

Wired Alarm Systems have cables running between the main panel and connected devices for example PIR Sensors (Motion), Inertia Sensors (Shock), Door/Window Contacts, Internal Sounder, External Bell/Strobe & Keypad to name a few. These systems are mains powered with backup batteries in the event of power failure. Sometimes it is difficult to run cables in a fully finished building but after a site survey we can determine what system best suits your requirements.

Wireless Systems

Wireless Systems are quicker & easier to install there are only a couple of cables to be ran on these systems and all connected devices are wireless but work in the same way as a wired system. The main advantage with this type of system is that there will be very little or no disruption at all to the building and sensors can be fitted freely with no mess involved. Again, same as the wired system the main panel has a battery backup in the event of a power failure. If any of the sensors are running low on batteries you will be notified on the Keypad well in advance. These sensor batteries typically last 2-3 years depending on usage but can easily be replaced by us when required.

Hybrid Systems

Hybrid Systems are basically a mixture of wired & wireless systems. There are plenty of scenarios where these systems are used. For example, when you move into your new home and it is pre-wired for an alarm but there was no provisions left for a couple of sensors in certain areas or you want to separate zones depending on the way it was initially wired. We could install wired sensors where they allowed for them and also Install wireless sensors in the areas that there were no provisions left for without the hassle of running cables or disrupting your home. This system also has a backup battery in the event of power failure.

Self Monitored Systems

Depending on the system you choose there are different options available on the self monitoring side of things. You can choose IP Monitoring which basically depends on your internet connection in your home and a small monthly fee for app access on your phone. You can also choose to have IP & GSM as a backup which also has a small monthly fee attached.

Fully Monitored Systems

Fully Monitored Systems send signals back to the Central Monitoring Station 24/7 and as soon as there is an alarm situation at your home they will notify the home owners and determine if its a false alarm if required they will notify the Gardai that your alarm is going off and request a call out. Giving you peace of mind that when your system is armed there is someone ready to respond in an alarm situation.
